Ron Wilson, Huck Boyd National Institute for Rural Development Director,
wrote a fantastic article about Dee Ann (Kraft) Goertzen and the company she works for. This was published in several of the newspapers across the state and heard on K-State's Radio Network.

Excerpt from a letter from Mike Connors of Commercial Metals Company Recycling in Independence, KS, to The Hive

"We have never been through your town before and after having a rough morning with a flat tire and other unplanned events, we saw your sign for a cold glass of ice tea or lemonade. We decided to stop in for a drink and figure out where exactly we were and how to get to where we were going.

When we walked in, we received a warm welcome, a cold drink and friendly conversation. Everyone encouraged us to have a seat, enjoy our drink and get a bite to eat. The food was great and the friendly atmosphere was just what we needed.

A special thanks to everyone in Gridley for making us feel welcome and for the great hospitality. It definitely changed the course of our day and we greatly appreciate your efforts.

It is always nice to witness that Kansas pride."
